UNI

RANCHI: The Adivasi Janadhikar Manch on Wednesday threatened to launch an indefinte Jharkhand bandh from June 30 if its demand for at least 60 per cent reservation for tribals in the state legislature and government jobs was not sympathetically considered by the Jharkhand government.

The manch has decided to carry out its proposed bandh call if the Jharkhand government failed to concede to its demands.

Talking to newsmen, manch convener and BJP MP from Mayurbhanj in Orissa Salkhan Murmu said the decision was taken at the Central committee of the manch on Wednesday forenoon.

The manch would give the call to all tribal leaders and organisations at its proposed Janadhikar rally to be organised in Ranchi on April 27 and its scheduled programme to 'gherao' Governor Prabhat Kumar.

After the rally they would call on the governor and submit a memorandum demanding early decision regarding its demand for reservation for the tribals in Jharkhand.
