Arrest criminals, demands BSP

Activists of the Bahujan Samaj Party today held a demonstration over the Segta deaths case.

The activists, took out a rally through the main markets of Ambala City, to demand the arrest of culprits. A memorandum was later submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, Ambala.

The memorandum states that the culprits must be brought to book at the earliest. It has also been demanded that at least Rs 5 lakh must be paid to next to kin of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh to the injured.

The activists gathered at the Ambala City district office and then headed for the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The leaders claimed that casteism is involved in the case.

Mr Raju Sethi, BSP youth office-bearer, said three weeks after the deaths, the culprits are yet to be nabbed. They stated that the law and order situation in Haryana has deteriorated under the present government.

The Haryana unit president had to face opposition from the activists when he said that the district administration had assured him about swift action in the matter. The activists said that they were determined to hold demonstration till such time the main culprits are not arrested.
