NASHIK: Leader of the Bharatiya Republican Party and the Bahujan Mahasangh, Prakash Ambedkar, has alleged that the Centre's guarantee for the Enron agreement with the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) was illegal and said his party would file a writ petition on this issue in the high court.

``The `anti-Enron' conference will be held at Dabhol on May 4,'' Mr Ambedkar told reporters on Thursday after inaugurating his party's office here, and added the petition would be filed after the court's summer vacation.

Questioning how the government has decided that it will be able to purchase electricity at the rate of Rs 3 per unit, Mr Ambedkar demanded another commission for probing the decisions based on the Godbole committee report. (PTI)
