DAVANAGERE, Sept 30: Its the tale of another child labourer being harrassed.

Chandramma from Lingadahalli near Hosadurga in Chitradurga relates the torment she went through while she was working for a family in Shivajinagar in Bangalore. Stating that she was locked up at home, given left over food and was overworked by Dr G K Prakash and Dr Sowbahgya, for whom she worked, tears flow down her face more than words.

Presently she is with he parents in Lingadahalli, she says that she is unable to believe if she has got out of the torment.

"I did all the work in the house. I took care of the kid. But, my world ended within the house. I was never given an opportunity to meet or talk to my parents," this girl says, with tears flowing down her face. "I have passed standard VI, and wish to study ahead," she says. When her father is questioned why they sent their girl to work, he remains silent.

With poverty, he is unable to say anything. "They said that they would give Rs 6,000 annually. My wife and me have severe health problems, so we sent our girl there," he said.
