Dalit Sena for uniform education policy

A joint meeting of the Dalit Sena and the Dalit Students’ Federation was held here today at Teachers Home. Mr Gurtej Singh Kandara, district president of the Sena, presided over the meeting.

Mr Kiranjeet Singh Gehri, state president of the Sena, was the chief guest.

Mr Harbans Singh, general secretary of the Punjab unit of Sena in a press note issued here today said the meeting was organised to discuss various issues.

He said the Sena would fight for the equality of the Scheduled Castes and Backward castes.

The education policy of the state should be made uniform and the state expenditure on education should be increased.

The fee structure should be realistic and affordable for all. The report of the Mandal Commission should be implemented, he demanded.
