HYDERABAD: The committee for struggle against caste discrimination has called upon dalits to vote only for such individuals and political parties which worked for social justice and removal of caste discrimination in the forthcoming elections to the Panchayat Raj bodies in the State.

The committee has asked people to elicit the views of the candidates as well as the political parties they represent on caste discrimination which is still prevalent in different districts.

In a press release issued here on Friday, committee state secretary J John Wesley criticised the State for claiming to build swarnaandhrapradesh while depriving employment oppostunities to dalits by large-scale privatisation of services. "How can swarnaandhrapradesh be achieved without curbing caste discrimination," Wesley said.
