Decision on quota to posts in local bodies soon
DH News Service A committee headed by Forest Minister K H Ranganath will take a final decision on reservation to the posts of presidents and vice-presidents of local bodies in the next two days, Minister of State for Municipal Administration Mallikarjun Nagappa said here today. Speaking to reporters here, he said the process of reservation to the posts of mayor and deputy mayor in four corporations and presidents and vice-presidents of CMCs and TMCs will be completed soon. The minister said after completion of the process of reservation, the deputy commissioners will be directed to conduct elections. Mr Nagappa said the second phase of elections to four CMCs, one TMC and 46 town panchayats will be conducted either in the first or second week of June. |
