MANGALORE, Aug 27:Hundreds of Dalit Sangharsha Samithi (DSS) workers today held a dharna demanding strict implementation of social justice measures in different government departments. The demands are - there are about 12,000 posts in the state which have been occupied by the people by providing false caste certificates of backwardness. They should be identified, removed from service and fresh recruitment should be made.

The backlog posts running to something around 25,000 in government departments, should be filled up. Mental harassment to dalit workers through transfer and demotion should be stopped, they demanded. The dharna was headed by DSS leaders K Rohitaksha, J Srinivasalu, Sundar Ullal and M Devadas.
