Janmabhoomi programme against caste discrimination sought

VIJAYAWADA: Members of National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights, have been conducting agitations in the State demanding the Government to allow discussion on untouchability and caste discrimination prevalent in Andhra Pradesh, at the World Conference Against Racism and Racial Discrimination, said Dalit Bahujan Front state coordinator K Vinaya Kumar.

The conference is scheduled to be held at Durban (South Africa) from August 31 to September 7. Over 160 delgates from various countries would attend.

Speaking to mediapersons on Wednesday, he appealed to the Government to constitute an action plan to eliminate caste discrimination and organise a Janmabhoomi programme against the evil practice.
