Labourer crushed to death under steel sheets

BANGALORE, OCT. 23. A labourer was crushed to death when around 30 tonnes of steel fell on him at a steel-cutting unit in the Jagjivanram Nagar police station limits in the City on Tuesday afternoon.

The dead was identified as Murugan (35). Police said that Murugan and other labourers were lifting a huge load of steel sheets when he came under it. A case has been registered against the factory owner, Loganathan.

Boy drowned: A 13-year-old boy was drowned when he fell into a well at the MEG Colony in the Banaswadi police station limits on Monday night.

The dead was identified as Satish Giri, son of Subedar Naik Suresh Giri of the Rajput Regiment. The Banaswadi police have registered a case.
