Mala Mahanadu plea to defeat TD, BJP

The Times of India News Service

HYDERABAD: The Mala Mahanadu has appealed to the people, particularly those belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and minorities, to vote against the TDP and BJP combine in the forthcoming elections to Panchayat Raj bodies.

Mala Mahanadu president PV Rao and general secretary Y Ramulu on Tuesday alleged that the Telugu Desam ruling party under Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was destroying the constitutional rights and welfare schemes intended to benefit the weaker sections, besides subverting the powers of local bodies. The TDP was working in favour of the rich, business houses and multinational companies by privatising all government services. "The TDP sees the government as a profit and loss calculating machine and therefore has totally ignored the welfare of the poor," they said.
