Militant demonstration by BSS in Delhi

New Delhi : Hundreds of BSS volunteers staged a militant demonstration on Monday in front of the Police Head Quarters at Indraprastha Estate to protest against the desecration of Dr. Ambedkar statue at Sultanpuri.

According to a statement issued by BSS Secretary., J. Choudhary, senior police officers had given a written assurance on the demands of the demonstrators who also kept road blockade. The demands included arrest of Deputy Director of Horticulture Department, whose name figured as prime accused in the FIR for causing damage to Ambedkar statue, reinstallinging a new bronze statue of Ambedkar at the same premises, and removal of Sultanpuri police station SHO for not arresting the culprits in compliance with the FIR. The statement also said that the SHO himself tried to disperse the demonstrators as they blocked the road.

Addressing the demonstrators, Bhai Tej Singh took exceptions on the indifferent attitude of MPs, MLAs and Councilors by remaining “deaf, dumb and blind” towards the problems faced by Dalits after winning their votes in Ambedkar’s name. “The BSS will have to treat their attitude with ‘Rashtriya Joota Brigade’”, he said, and warned: “No Hindu temple in the capital and elsewhere will remain safe if the Congress Government in Delhi, BJP Government at the Centre and the Delhi police failed to stop desecrating and damaging Buddha Viharas, Mosques, Gurudwaras, Churches and statues of Lord Buddha and Dr. Ambedkar.”

The procession to the Police Headquarters was led by Dr. Brij Mohan Sagar, Delhi Pradesh BSS Chief Commander.
