Nominations invited for Ambedkar Award

KOCHI: The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has invited nominations for Dr Ambedkar National Award for 2001.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh, and is given for outstanding contribution to the promotion of social understanding and uplift of weaker sections to the mainstream of the Indian society, working for their socio-economic and educational uplift and for a published work or a mass movement widely recognised and acclaimed.

The achievements, contribution and work within 10 years preceding the nomination shall be considered for the award. The nominations may be sent to the director, Dr Ambedkar Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, 15-Janpath, New Delhi-110001 by November 30.
