PCC chief for united fight against casteism

VISAKAPATNAM: Pradesh Congress Committee president M Satyanarayana Rao observed that caste discrimination was still prevalent in the country and said there was need for the victims to unite to fight the onslaught by the upper castes.

Participating in the inaugural function of the Velama Welfare Organisation office building at Balayya Sastri Layout here on Wednesday, Rao urged the organisations, formed to fight caste discrimination, to strive for the development of the society also. He said politics was only a temporary phenomenon and it was only development that matters. At the same time, he said, it was the duty of the politicians to achieve equanimity among all sections of people.

Forest Minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu, TDPP leader K Yerram Naidu, Parawada MLA B Satyanarayana Murthy and Velama Welfare Association president N Rambabu took part.
