Paswan to address Janshakti rally

KANPUR: Lok Janshakti Party will organise a public meeting at the Bhidoo here on May 22. The meeting will be jointly addressed by national president and Union communication minister Ram Vilas Paswan and Ram Asrey Kushwana, the state forest minister.

Talking to mediapersons here on Sunday, former MLA, Mahesh Valmiki, said that in order to uplift the existing status of backward classes, it was necessary to give them a representation in the power . He claimed that only Lok Janshakti Party could protect the rights of the poor and the downtrodden.

He claimed that former chief minister of state and leader of Bahujan Samaj Party, Mayawati had failed to save rights of backward classes and alleged that BSP was befooling the people for its political gains . He informed that several disgruntled leaders of BSP would join LJSP in this public meet.

Talking about the forthcoming Assembly elections, Valmiki said that the party's national leaders have decided to field party candidates in all constituencies in the state.

He said that around 50,000 party workers from the city would take part in the meeting .In this regard, a cycle procession was also taken out by the party members in the Naubasta locality on Sunday.
