Six dalits massacred in Bihar

Patna, Aug. 23. (PTI): A week after the Mathaurha carnage, six dalits including three children were killed and one injured by the People's War Group (PWG) faction headed by Jaynandan Yadav at Dasmai village in Patna district, a top police official said today.Heavily-armed ultras raided the village and shot dead six persons late last night, Inspector General of Police (Operation), Neelmani, said.

The killing was in apparent retaliation of the mowing down of three sympathisers of the PWG faction by the Maoist Communist Centre (MCC) ultras at Khainia village under Masaurhi sub- division in Patna district on August 6.

Jayanandan gang had also shot dead six dalits at Mathaurha village in the same sub-division on August 16. Contingents of the CRPF, the Bihar Military Police and the District Armed Police were conducting raids to apprehend the culprits, Neelmani said.One person who suffered gun-shot injuries was being treated at a local hospital.
