VISAKHAPATNAM: The members of the Srikakulam Zilla Valmiki, Porja (Pydi) Thega Samkshema Sangham have recently submitted a memorandum to the National Commission for SCs/STs chairman Dilip Singh Bhuria and joint secretary B S Parisheera, urging them to solve their problems arising from the non-issuance of ST certificates to the members of the Pydi community.

In a press release, Sangham advisor P Raja Rao alleged the district administration and the State were not facilitating the issue of the ST certificate despite instructions by the Centre. He said the Presidential Order under Art 342 notified the Pydi community as a scheduled tribe.
