Diksha Bhoomi accorded National Monument Status

Yeotmal (Maharashtra): Speaking at the inauguration of the new Post office at Yeotmal, Minister RamVilas Paswan told the news-men that Diksha Bhoomi, where Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and millions of Dalits got converted to Buddhism, and Chaitya Bhoomi, Mumbai, where Babasaheb was cremated are accorded the status of National monuments by Govt.of India. He wished that the local managing bodies of these places will extend full cooperation to the govt. for the up-keep of these national monuments.

Lauding his governments efforts towards the benefit of Dalits he pointed out to some programs like 50 percent increase in promotion etc. The review of Constitution will not touch the "heart" of the constitution, he said. Asked about his opinion on the separate Vidharbh state, he said " we are for small states."
