New Delhi, Dec. 6. (PTI): Vice-President Krishan Kant, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Lok Sabha Speaker G M C Balayogi led the nation in paying homage to the architect of Indian Constitution, B R Ambedkar, on his 44th death anniversary today.

The leaders offered floral tributes at Ambedkar's statue on the lawn of Parliament House this morning.

Union Ministers Pramod Mahajan, Satyanarayan Jatiya, Kashiram Rana, Ram Naik, T R Balu, Maneka Gandhi, Congress leaders Madhavrao Scindia, Manmohan Singh, Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar and Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dixit also paid homage to Ambedkar.
