Non-SCs corner loans meant for SCs
http://www.tribuneindia.com/20001017/punjab.htm#18 AMRITSAR, Oct 16 - The fact-finding committee of the Communist Party of India (CPI) has indicted the Punjab Scheduled Caste and Land Development and Financial Corporation (PSCLDFC) for granting loans worth lakhs of rupees to many non-Scheduled Castes with the connivance of higher officials. The committee also indicted Punjab Vigilance Department officials for giving "clearance" to the cases of non-Scheduled Castes for the reasons known to officials. The six-page report prepared by Mr Raj Kumar and Mr Gurdip Singh Gurwali, both district executive members of the party, was released to the Press by Mr Balwant Singh assistant secretary, CPI. The report includes 45 cases, most of them belonging to general categories or backward classes. |
