“Valmiki Caste brotheren were enslaved by Arya Brahmins so that they will not join the mainstream of the society”
-Waman Meshram

For the last 3-4 years I was closely watching the problems of valmiki caste people in the northern India and I came to the conclusion that there are so many problems which our Valmiki Caste brothern are facing still after 54 years of independence. I discussed these problems with my collegues and finally concluded that BAMCEF will alone can touch and solve the problems. Keeping in mind this two day valmiki (scavenger) caste liberation national convention was organised.

Elaborating the basic idea behind organising this convention, Mr. Waman Meshram said that with this convention, BAMCEF had started its activities and it will not end with this convention but the activities will be extended till the end of year with regular corner meetings, programmes etc. It will be made a regular feature. This type of national convention will be organized on regular basis every year till 2006 and after that its mode will change. From these activities and programmes a national level organization will be setup, which will be operated and directed by BAMCEF. Various cader camps will be organized and cadres from valmiki caste will be developed. Special attention will be given towards these cadres and special training will be given and from them the real leaders will be sorted out.

The basic objective of caderisation is that the delegates who are participating in this convention will try to get the ideological concepts and after this they will go to their respective areas and will propogate the ideas and ideology which they had learned or grasped here. The prapogation of this ideology will help in making aware the valmiki caste brotheren. The basic problem of valmiki caste people is their mental slavery.

BAMCEF is of the opinion that unless and until the mind of any society is liberated, he cannot be liberated from any type of slavery. The basic idea of caderisation is to liberate the mind of valmiki caste brothern from slavery.

Process of mental liberation is a very slow process and is a repetitive process just like a sculptor repetitively chisel a stone to get the final sculpture. This mental liberation will result in social revolution.

BAMCEF had planned to conduct various programmes of mental liberation in north India and for the same, national programmes, conventions cader camps will be organized in various pockets of dominated areas of valmiki caste people. National conventions will be organized in various states every year.

This convention was organized on 14th and 15th April, but preparation at all India basis was started three months before and based on the feedback that was received from all over India, the basic purpose behind organizing this convention was solved before this convention itself. Presently BAMCEF had spread up its network in 24 states and valmiki caste brotheren from 13 states had represented in this first convention, which is a great achievement. Due to this convention, one uniformal message will spread in all over India and it will result in making a strength to solve our basic problems.

Most of our people thinks that they themselves can’t solve any problems and were dependant on others and hence due to dependancy on others they could not develop or become part of mainstream of society. For the last 54 years of indepandance we were dependant and we have experience with us that none, even God who believe in God (who believe in God) havn’t came to our rescue. Hence in this convention we will have to take oath that we ourselves will have to take the responsibility to identify and find solutions to our problems. Now onwards we will not be dependant. For this we will have to develope ourselves, will have to stand on our own feet. BAMCEF is presently working in 24 states and 190 districts and upto December 2001, it will reach in 300 districts. Not only this but upto 2004 it will spread its network in 2500-3000 taluka places and 550 districts out of 585 districts of India. Wherever BAMCEF will spread, its subsidiary unit of valmiki caste brotheren will reach. The main objective of BAMCEF is to unite all 6000 oppressed castes and make aware of their strength. This unification process is a part of the Mahajagran (National awarness Campaign) that BAMCEF had organized.

This year 5 conventions will be organized for our tribal brothern as a part of mahajagran. Also for the converted castes from SC and OBC, a national convention will be organized and other programmes will follow up and come to you in near future.
