Mulnivasi Valmiki Jati Mukti National Convention
Indigineous Scavenger Caste liberation, Appeal

Organising Convention
This Convention might be the first convention, which is organised at national level in this fashion. This Convention is meant for people of those castes who are called as Valmiki in northern India and northwestern India, Chuhras in Punjab, Dumras in Rajasthan, Mehtar in Bihar, Bhuimalia in West Bengal, Thotis in Tamil Nadu. These castes are identified by different names in different states. In southern India Valmiki name is not famous, there they are called as thotis, hela or madigas, in northern east also this word is less used, but it doesn’t mean that they can’t participate in this convention. Basically these all are the untouchable castes and they are deliberately made engaged in doing scavenging work. This convention is the first one, which is organised at national level. Hence this convention has its own importance.

Who is organising the convention ?
BAMCEF and Mulnivasi Sangh (ladies, Students and Youths wing) are organising this massive convention at national level. At present BAMCEF has spread up its network in 24 states. Hence it is today’s need to create importance of this convention. BAMCEF organisation is preparing itself to make this convention a grand success.

Why this convention ?
Still after more than 50 years of independence the problems of untouchable castes are not solved. Moreover the community which is doing scavenging work among the untouchable castes had not developed at all. Hence it is the need of time to unite all the untouchable castes at their own level and find solutions to their problems. This will achieve three things. (1) Our traditional enemy will not be in a position to misuse the strength of Mulnivasi Valmiki people. (2) Our own strength can be utilised for the upliftment of our fellow brothers. (3) We will be discussing about our own problems and finding the solutions. Keeping in mind all these three points this convention had been organised and that too at national level. BAMCEF is not only going to organise the national convention of Valmikis but soon it will organise national convention of Adivasis (Tribal People). Not only this convention of most backward class and Backward Class will also be organised separately. Also convention of Muslims Backward Class will be organised.

Convention will be organised on regular basis
The above said conventions will not be organised once or twice but it will be organised on regular basis every year and with proper planning. Not only this but depending on the level of awareness it will be given organisational shape. By these conventions all those castes will get united who are usually engaged in doing scavenging work and organisation will be formed of them. We are confident that our own strength and energy will liberate us. We will decide our own policies. Definitely these conventions will help a lot to achieve our ultimate goal.

Why the date 14th April is chosen
One question can be asked that why only 14th April is chosen for this occasion. To know this we must first understand that how our fellow brothers were kept away from the mainstream of our society for the last 50 years of independence. They were kept confused so that they will not develop. These castes were not having faith on their liberator Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s words that “We ourselves will have to develop & nobody else will come forward to develop & liberate us”. They were get confused by not believing Dr. Ambedkar’s words. Now after 50 years of injustice we will have to believe the ideas of our liberator and will have to know its importance. Hence 14th April date is chosen for this convention.
