A Buddhist organization on Thursday laid its claim on Ram Janmabhoomi and a few other religious sites at Ayodhya saying they were built by Hindu kings after demolishing Budhist monasteries that existed there.

"Ram Janmabhoomi complex, Maniparbat, Sugriv Kila, Kuber tila and Hanumangarhi temple at Ayodhya were built by Hindu kings after demolishing Buddhist monasteries that existed there," vice-president of Buddhist International Centre Kirti Ratna told a press conference in Faizabad.

The government should hand over these sites to the Buddhists, Mr. Ratna said.
