Dear
Friends!
A
few concerned open-minded Dalits, who are members of the Social Study Circle,
meet regularly every week over a Paper on a chosen specific Contemporary Issue
concerning or affecting us. The Paper specifically prepared by one of us, or an
old important Paper revised and updated by any one or some of us, are taken up
for discussions. Each Paper, after study and discussions, is appropriately
edited and given a shape or finalized, adopted and included in our Home Page
dalitindia.
We welcome all our Friends to offer their Comments. Than
appreciations and praise or congratulations and thanks, we are keenly looking
forward to more and more Constructive criticisms and Value-based-Comments. We
try to avoid semantic debates or argumentative exchanges, on non-issues by
those who want to score over others, indulge in one-upmanship or try to putdown
others, or have some axe to grind, or a grievance that they can not or do not
want to, or are unable to put forward reasonably and rationally.
We
therefore request our visitors and readers, to analyze each and every Paper on
the Page in detail, completely and thoroughly, and offer their valuable
suggestions, so that all of us here could get some fresh insights, or we could
update and improve them. Only that would make our Papers precise, and clear our
thoughts and perspectives. That would also help us to clearly focus the
attention of our readers, and adjust or change the approach to the problem
where necessary. In this, your suggestions and inputs may be the most essential
ones, to clear the concepts and improve the quality, depth and value of any one
of our Paper, or the entire Home Page. That can make many of our friends sharp,
and enable them to respond better, appropriately and incisively, to all the
deliberate attacks and criticisms by our antagonists. This would surely help us
to squarely meet others, who have great wealth power, big influence and wide
network of contacts.
Friends,
in our Home Page, we have deliberately chosen not to give credit to individual
authors of the Papers, lest they and their papers are adversely and unfairly
commented, only because a few don't like some specific Writers due to some
prejudices and biases. Also, we like to spare the authors from the jealousy of
others, and also being unfairly accused of writing or preparing their Papers
just to establish themselves or project their images for recognition, or with
other ulterior motives of achieving some vain private goals of their own
personal misty future, or as trying to dominate the thought process of others,
or as imposing their views by virtue of position or the office they hold. We
are also aware of the fact that, now writing and speaking about Dalits, Dalit
Issues, Dalit Problems, Dalit Dilemmas and Dalit Oppressions, is more of a
fashion and hobby with some, and anybody and everybody have now started to
write for name and money. We are aware that, Dalit debates have became more and
more confused and complex, even though the field of late has become a Gold Mine,
a shortcut to fame and recognition, a ladder to offices of profit and positions
of comfort and convenience, and hence there is much to gain and harvest. There
is also the sad fact that today there are many Professional writers who don't
mind stealing others' thoughts and works, and openly and shamelessly indulge in
plagiarism. Further, there are others, who get promoted by their spouses and
other close family members in positions of power and authority, even though
they as individuals are weak, ignorant, incapable of thinking or writing or
discussing or speaking in public and before others, or compose a sentence
completely and coherently, or articulate their thoughts or any logic or
argument on any issue and put them across meaningfully and purposefully, either
in English or even in their own lingo or mother tongue. Yet, their Articles and
Papers get published, appear regularly in journals, magazines, big newspapers,
and in National and in many International Seminar Proceedings. Thus, they get
themselves unfairly and undeservingly promoted. We also want to guard against
such a situation, lest we also become unwillingly a ladder for such
individuals/ couples/ families who try to push up their undeserving spouses/
family members further and further, at the cost and in place of other, and grab
or corner the dues of others batter qualified and more capable.
It
is for these reasons that, we have deliberately and consciously decided to not
to give Credits to Author of the Papers in our Web Site. However, We, the Members
of the SSC here, do collectively take all the Responsibility for the Papers we
do discuss, finalize and approve for placing on the Web Site. We all are always
ready to respond, react and answer to any Comments and Queries on any issue at
any time. We may at times, place on the Web Site, some good Papers by some
experts or eminent writers as Reference Materials or Background Papers for our
discussions, or on the Dalit Issues. Since, they basically not being SSC
Papers, will be duly acknowledged and bear the names of the Authors, to avoid
being accused or charged of unfairly taking Others' works for our use as if
they are ours. We may also include at times Papers by other Guests specially
invited to present a particular Paper, or talk before us on some important
issue. But these will be exceptions, and remain only far and few.
Friends,
all the Papers in our web site - the papers by the members of SSC, or those in
the Guest Section, or those by others included as Reference Material and
Background Papers, are available for use of our Readers. Anyone can freely
Quote them, or Criticize them and discuss them in their Speeches, Writings and
Papers. But give credit to our web site dalitindia or refer them as SSC papers.
We will be grateful to the users, if they can duly and specifically acknowledge
the Authors whenever they refer to the Guest Papers or the Reference Material
and Background Papers they had seen on our web site.
Friends,
please also put up with us for the ghost errors that may creep up before you,
as grammatical mistakes, mistakes in composition and structure of the sentence,
or the omissions of words and numbers in between, or the loss of whole lines
etc, during data entry and loading on the web-site. We Promise to correct them
by editing and updating the Papers from time to time, hopefully at regular
intervals.
Remaining
in the Cause all Dalits and in Your Service,
EDITOR
