MEETINGS ON DALIT ISSUES
There are no dearth of Dalit Issues. For Dalits have endless Problems, and infact
Dalit themselves are the Problems. They
are Problems for themselves, and also they are Problems for others. On the top of it, others create any number
of endless Problems to the Dalits! So
at times there are meetings to discuss these Problems, the Dalit Issues. Generally there are no regular
Meetings. For Dalits do not meet
themselves, come together to meet other Dalits or for a get together. Generally they don't visit others except to
drink, and ruin themselves and their families, particularly their children
their education and development. The
only other times they go to any one is when they have a Personal Problem in
hand or get into difficulties. They
also go either very silently, or in an extraordinarily very very friendly
manner, when they are in need of some help - often times to get favours, a job
or promotion, that too at the cost of another Dalit and a much better
Dalit! They don't meet their seniors,
even if they are also Dalits! And it is
so sad that senior Dalits also do not encourage and help Dalits! They avoid their Dalit Juniors, afraid that
they may ask for some help, and if they do try to help - either they will be
accused of helping other Dalits, or others will not cooperate, and they will
not be in a position to get the job done.
Thus their inabilities, helplessness and weaknesses will be
exposed. This practice in any case
bring them bad names and make them friendless, and leave them in a poor
image. That is the reason why generally
Dalits have very poor PRO, and they hardly have any friends or ever get any
genuine help. They rarely know any VIP
or Authorities who can really help them.
Often times it is sad to note that they don't even know their local MLA
or MP.
Since there are many number of Dalit Issues and
Problems. At times they get public
attention, and the Press that carefully avoids Dalits on their rolls or as
columnists, reports some Dalit Problem prominently to make money, or to make a
name for some Reporter or Editor through the Dalit Problems. In some cases then, or for some mundane or
important issue, Meetings are held to discuss the Dalit Issue or Problem! These Meetings are basically of two types. One is those Meetings orgnised by some
Dalits - the Dalit Meetings. The other
is those Meetings arranged or called by the non-Dalits, the so called
Samaritans, Dalit Friends, and Concerned Citizens of the Civil Society. It may appear strange that others also call
Dalit Meetings. For, others in the
context of a Dalit always meant the Dalit Oppressors and Dalit Exploiters - the
unfair unjust and unreasonable inhuman criminals. But then in a shrinking International World, that has some
concern, Dalit Problems are big Issues, and are easy money spinners. There is lot of money available to study
discuss and work on Dalit Issues. Dalit
Issues today are big business. And the
money generally go into the wrong hands, and they are invariably wasted if not
misused. For, there are too many dogs
and foxes or leaches around, both of the Dalit variety, and of the Oppressors
Shade.
These Meetings are very interesting, and broadly follow a
pattern. We have therefore decided to
record them, for information of others, and may be for further analysis and
study.
DALIT MEETINGS
Dalit Meetings are of many varieties. They are -
1. General
Meetings - Poorly attended, and rarely is there any follow up action. And the meetings generally adhoc in nature,
and are not regularly held.
2. Self
Promotion Meetings - Meetings with senior officials, to promote oneself, and to
distribute visiting cards to catch clientale as being done by some Doctors and
Lawyers. Some crowd depending upon the bait made available for the
participants.
3. Meetings
to meet Foreign Visitors and NRIs - A good crowd. Address seekers, visiting card exchanges, request for private
audiences, invitation for exclusive or one to one or family meetings,
arrangement of tea or breakfast or lunch or dinner at home, or entertainment
elsewhere.
4. Felicitation
Meetings - A very good crowd. Organised
to felicitate some one appointed in a good and vantage positions. Intention is to exploit such people latter
privately for personal and family benefits and for pecuniary gains. Favour seekers, unnecessary speeches to
impress others, particularly the guest.
5. Meetings
with VIPs - Big crowd. Sneaking Photographs, shamelessly standing behind the
VIPs with out any work or purpose to appear in the TV and Photographs, or
pestering the VIP for a photograph with the VIP. Favour seeking and handing over representations that are mostly
meaningless, useless and poorly written.
6. Dinner
Meetings - Uncontrollable Crowd, if Dinner is Free! If contributory, only few will be there, depending upon who will
be the Guest Speakers, whether they are Foreign Visitors, NRIs or VIPs! And many will eat and coolly slip away
without making their contributions, or promise to pay latter and never turn up
later for long, till another occasion arises.
OTHERS MEETINGS ON DALIT ISSUES
Good crowd.
Address seekers, Visiting card hunters, exchanging telephone numbers and
e-mail Ids, paying obedience, wagging tais dutiful, hanging around some body of
substance or appearing to be of some value.
Type of Participants:
Dead participants, useless participants, deaf and dumb listeners, poor
listeners, stupid questioners, show offs trying to be extra intelligent;
cauciusse trying to silence the real Dalit Voices, questioning Dalit Voices,
others views, dissenting views, protests, those with followers projecting
themselves, hangers around, favour seekers, crumb pickers, and frauds of the
local national and international varieties.
NOTE: This is only a Preliminary Work. Much more need to be added here. And much more need to be observed for
additions here.
Readers might have observed a lot in this regard. They are requested to provide additional
points and views or relevant crucial facts, to complete this picture.
The Dalit World would be extremely benefited by the
contributions of our Readers who see dalitindia. And dalitindia
would be highly thankful ever for these inputs, and be extremely grateful to
all the contributors for their valuable suggestions and ideas.
